    • Effects of the 1848 Gold Rush
      • Thousands of gold miners migrated to the south in hope of gold and wealth. This meant lots of business were thriving and the village in California had more tourists.
        • However the more miners migrating to mine gold also meant that the village was becoming over crowed and would need to expand to cater for new residents
          • The towns and villages these migrants were deserting left business and families bankrupt and deserted. the business began to fail as loss of customers
    • further effects of the 1848 Gold Rush
      • As people became  wealthier they became greedy and obsessive
      • People began developing alcohol and gambling addictions as a way to waste their new found fortune
