      • the more choices there are, the slower the reaction time is
    • Spatial anticipation
      • performer programmes a pattern of movement prior to movement needed

      • when the performer predicts what is going to happen

      • the delay in response to the second of two closely spaced stimuli
      • PRP is used in sports by performers who 'dummy' or 'fake' their opponents
      • opponent perceives signals form the 'fake' - begins to initiate a response to these signals to block you
      • meanwhile performer starts to move the other way which opponent can't immediately respond to (single channel hypothesis)
        • single channel hypothesis - must complete response to 1st signal before that can attend 2nd
