Vector
Magnitude and direction
1 of 10
Representing vectors
Column vector with change in x on the top and change in y on the bottom

i/j notion with 6i + 4j = 6 right and 4 up
2 of 10
Multiplying vectors
X(2i+5j) = 2Xi + 5Xj
3 of 10
Adding vectors
(2i+5j) + (7i+3j) = 9i+8j
4 of 10
Magnitude of a vector
If a = xi + yj

magnitude = |a| = √x^2 + y^2
5 of 10
Unit vector in a given direction
a/|a|
6 of 10
Position vectors
The distance of a point from another written as two letters with a line above showing the direction of the vector

If the origin is the starting point then the coordinates of the other point are the i/j notation for the vector
7 of 10
Parallel lines
Parallel lines have the same vector
8 of 10
Angles from y - axis
Angles can be taken from vectors in the y -axis means the angle where the vector line meets the vertical line

(Always taken upwards)
9 of 10
Angles from the x - axis
Angles in the x - axis means the angle where the vector line meets the horizontal line
