Unstructured Interviews

Involves the researcher joining a group of people, taking an active part in their day to day lives as a member of that group and making in-depth recordings of what they sees
Participant Observation

Studies of a sample of people in which information is collected from the same people at intervals over a long period of time
Longitudinal Studies

Where the respondents are deceived into thinking the researcher is ‘one of them’ do not know the researcher is conducting research
Covert Observation

A method of gathering information by asking questions orally, either face to face or by telephone
Interviews

Sampling technique in which the researcher divides the entire target population into different subgroups, and then randomly selects the final subjects proportionally from the different subgroups
Stratified Sample

To collect a simple random sample, each unit of the target population is assigned a number. A set of random numbers is then generated and the units having those numbers are included in the sample
