Why have you applied for this project?

I feel my skills are suited to the specific job role and it will enable me to progress in my chosen field as it will give me enough experince to get a foothold in the performing arts sector

What role are you interested in and how will this contribute to the project?

My role will play a key part in the performance as i will be lighting the performers and assisting them in any way i can with any technical queries such as the lighting effects front/side/back

How will the experience and knowledge you have gained while on the course be relevant to this project?

I am able to use and understand technical vocabulary which will allow me to work in a professional environment efficiently. I have also being able to gather knowledge on how to understand/use and create technical documents eg. cue/lightingplotandrisk

I have amassed a wide range of technical skills during my time on this course for example as i mentioned in the portfolio my ability to use various attachments for the lights such as gobos,iris',barn doors to manipulate the light, colour and mood.

I have knowledge of lighting techniques such as mcCandless method where a cold and warm light beam onto a performer from 45o angles to create a more realistic lifelike light

Colour Theory

I have a comprehensive understanding of colour theory and know which colours are interpreted in which way. i knowcolorisusedtoexpressandshowemotionsaswellas season/weather/setting

Rock Challenge

Throughout this course i have been able to gain a diverse range of skills which will possitively impact my ability to complete tasks when working on Wellies, Words and Wiggles as i mentioned in my portfolio such as working to deadlinesshowscommitment

Lighting technician on previous events

Ali Baba- i have used colour to create atmosphere on Ali Baba as to set the scene colour was used so the audience had less to have to picture and they could ge caught in the suspension of disbelief in www as lots of kids willusethelightingtohelplearn

What is your progression strategy for the next five years?

My progression strategy is stay in education for 1 more year then i will go onto seek employment in an area where i can consolidate my knowledge and develop my practical skills. i will become a lighting technician then attempt tobuildmywayina theatre

This role will give me the experience needed to expand my reach into this sector as this is my first employment opportunity in this area so i will be able to create a stable and solid base on which to build my career willallowmetoshowcaseemploymentop

What will i encounter?

During my time on Wellies, Words & Wiggles i can expect to encounter all types o performers so must be flexible and able to accomodate various demands

Communicate

i will work side by side with managerial roles such as stage managers and as it is a large performance with lots o staff listening is key due to not much time so i must understand lighting designs and carry them out safely.
