- Inspector Bertozzo
- Role in the play
- Supporting
- **** of the joke- slapstick humour
- Real Life
- He is meant to be a combinatin of multiple real life police officers
- He reminds me of Tom from Tom and Jerry as that character is also miserable, the **** of the joke and part of a slapstick comedy
- What the character does
- Highlights to the audience the violent nature of the police system and how anarchists would have been treated
- He interviews the Maniac at the beginning, but is not present for most of the inquiry. At the end he returns and tries to reveal the Maniac's identity but is stopped
- Personality
- Angry, miserable, uptight. His lines are humourless in order to highlight the Maniac's wit.
- Mannerisms
- Rubbing his hands together, a contrast between sometimes being fast paced and sometimes slower
- Role in the play
