they werent drinking there own waste so they didnt have diseases such as cholera

charms and herbs (herbs-chickweed for sores/ulcers or ointment for skin problems and violets for antiseptic and basis for cough medicine)

what is trephinning?
a surgery that removes evil spirits from the body by drilling one or two holes in the skull. the idea was that the spirits coukd then escape.

did people survive trephinning and was there evidence to support this?
yes, peoples skulls were found with holes in but with bone regrowing around which shows people lived through the surgery.

what was the role of medicine men?
they wer ethe equivelant to doctors today however they had little technology and equipment. youd see them if you were ill

they made herbal remedies and medicines from herbs and plants they had collected. youd see them if you were ill.
