Bone to bone. Ligaments are very strong string.

Fixed/Immovable, Slightly Moveable, Freely Moveable.

Extension, Flexion, Abduction, Abduction, Rotation.

Opening a joint.

Closing a joint.

Moving towards an imagery centre line.

Ball and socket, Hinge, Pivot, Condyloid, Gliding.

Where can you find a ball and socket joint?
Shoulder and hip.

Where can you find a hinge joint?
Knee or elbow.

Where can you find a pivot joint?
Spine (enables you to shake your head).

Where can you find a condyloid joint?
Wrist.

What are the features of a condyloid joint?
Move forwards, backwards, left and right but can not rotate. Allows flexion, extension, adduction and abduction.

Where can you find gliding joints?
Tarsals and carpals. Move slightly in each direction.
