What are coherent wave sources needed for, and what classes something as a coherent wave source?
Coherent wave sources are needed for a stable interference pattern, this means the waves are the same frequency, in phase, same amplitude.

Describe the double slit experiment, What did Thomas young conclude from it?
a coherent light source (a laser) is shone through two slits, becuause the waves bend, and there are pattern of constructive and destructive interference this shows light can also behave as a wave

How can light be polarized and what effect does this have?
light can be polarized using a polarising filter, which only lets light through with vibrations in one plane only.

What is the difference between a Real image and a virtual image?
A real image is where light from an object comes together to form an image on a 'screen' like the retina on the eyes. Virtual image is when rays are diverging, so the object appears to be in a different place (e.g in mirrors and binoculars)

how are images focused?
Images are focused by moving the lens, the closer the object, the further from the lens the image will be formed
