This is our first introduction to Lennie and George and automatically tells us that the relationship is not equal as one is always walking behind the other which shows one person is more in charge of the other.

This shows that Lennie thinks of George as a role model and someone to look up to as he is imitating him and copying what he's doing, it's almost like a father and son relationship.

This shows Lennie talking about their relationship very endeeringly. He makes the relationship sound balanced as they look after eachother when really it's only George looking after Lennie but he doesn't realise this.

This shows the conversation between George and Curley when Curley assumes that they're gay but George doesn't take the bait and give Curley the satisfaction. He's also being faithful to Lennie and not being embarrassed.

George is talking about himself and Lennie, this shows the one sided relationship as George sees the relationship of just getting used to eachother where as Lennie sees them as the best of friends.

This is Candy talking about the relationship between him and his dog which relates to George and Lennie as they've been together for so long too. Also, Lennie is referred to as an animal too so it also shows the diversity between their mentality.
