OCR AS level Physics Unit 2 Detailed test

A thorough test, hopefully covering all areas of the OCR AS level Physics Unit 2 module.. for exam in Jan

Covers Mechanics Waves and Materials..

?

1. Which is the correct method for working out the aspects of a projectile, when it is projected at an angle?

  • Resolve the resultant vector first into x and y components, use these to calculate the momentum of the object and its force upon impactobject and
  • Resolve Initial velocity in horizontal and Vertical components > use Vertical component to calculate how long it is in the air for/ how high it goes > Use Horizontal component to calculate distance covered.
  • Use pythagoras to find the horizontal and vertical components > then use the horizontal component to work out the initial velocities and then input that into the projectile equation

Woo if that was an exam I'd get an A :-) especially as we haven't covered half the sylubus yet I think that's good going :-) Thanks for the quiz! :-)

Pretty good. Quite easy to identify the false answers.

I'd say this is more GCSE level than AS, but then again I'm doing CIE, not OCR.

Some of the answers you said were right im pretty sure were wrong, like for 31. the horizontal component is Vcos(theta), but this didn't get the correct answer so yah :') Otherwise its good methinks

good stuff, but like ^ this guy says, some answers were (i think) wrong. eg 67 - should be tangent, right?

Yeah Q67 to find the gradient at a single point you can either draw a tangent, or if it's a uniform curve, you can differentiate it, but in the OCR exam they wouldn't ask for it at a single point, only the average velocity so no problem there. Good quiz though, otherwise. Thanks

Not to bad, a few of the q's were pretty long winded, just like this comment LOL :)

Got 100% on the quiz, could jut do to be cut down to about 40q's, although thats just my opinion, Thanks anyway ;) ***

I definitely think some of the questions are wrong, and we haven't covered anything to do with torque, but I found it really useful to see which were my weaker topics...thanks!
