Clues
- 1st temporate neolithic, yes crops/livestock/pottery/figurines, all arrive together (migrationist), no more tells, few houses, sites are mainly pits, more hunting than S, smaller more mobile communities, slash and burn farmin' (8, 7)
- early neo funnel beaker culture (TRB),1st baltic farming, developed from mix of ertebolle and S farming, contemporaneous w/ copper age societies in S (3, 10)
- emergence of linearbandkeramik (LBK), develops on hungarian plain (5600bc) & spreads to CE by (5500bc) & E/W expanse (5200bc), long houses small settlements, LBK for dairying, detected lipid residues in perforated indicate cattle econ, lactose persis (7, 6)
- gradual increase in site size, rectangular houses common, pottery changes (diverse), cattle but still hunting on many sites, invention of metallurgy (5000bc), suggests a lot of smaller groups & large scale herding (8, 7, 5)
- Impressa pottery style (finger thing), E. Adriatic = rapid spread of ideas and whole package, complete switch to domesticates (sheep & goats), little variable in substance, lithic/bone continuity (8)
- late meso Ertebo(fancy)lle Culture (EBK), forager fisher w/ distinct pottery trad, known from huge shell middens, neighbors to LBK, long lag in adoption of ag, frontier zone, exchange and interactions across N/S frontier (1, 6)
- N Italy = continued use of wild resources, slower uptake of farming in richer environments, C/S Italy = more reliance on farming & evidence of enclosed diddy farmsteads (5)
- special case :S, long standing meso forager trad, arguably direct evidence of incorporation of neo practices by indigenous pop (6, 6)
- yes agriculture, no pottery, domestication, tell sites, large communities, no sign of hierarchies, human and animal figurines, 7000BC = rich animal symbolism (7, 8)
- yes crops, yes livestock, long lived tell sites, yes pot, yes figurines, houses (appear all @ once = classic migration), wild disappears - cultural shunning? people having rigid concepts of wild and dom? (8, 7)
