How does lossy compression work?
Lossy compression removes some information from the image permanently to

How does lossless compression work?
Lossless compression shrinks the whole image down and can be restored to its original state later.

How can sound be sampled and be converted to digital format?
Frequency is represented by bits and at certain intervals a sample of the bits are taken which can be later used to form a digital signal.
