What is an intranent?
A private network used within an organisation

What is an extranet?
An internal network that can be accessed by outsiders e.g. customers, pupils and staff

A device that analyses each packet of data then sends it to the computer that it was intended for

It links a LAN to a LAN

It allows computers on a network to share an internet connection

What is packet switching?
Data is broken into packets; the packets are sent (one-by-one) over a network; packets contain source address and a destination address; packets can take different routes to get to their destination; data is reassembled at the destination
