What is the mouth of the river?
This is where it meets the sea.

How is an oxbow lake formed?
Water enters a meander quickly causing hydraulic action on the outside of the bend. This allows the river to break through and cut off the meander.

This is the curve of the river.

A smaller river which flows into a larger river/ main river

The point at which the river begins.

How is a rapid formed?
Rocks are in the way of the shallow water which flows through the river. Therefore the water splashes up around the rocks and curves to avoid them. The rocks are made of hard rock so the river cannot easily erode through them.
