Arthritis (inflammation of the joints), type 2 diabetes (inability to control blood sugar level as insulin is not recognised by the body), high blood pressure, heart disease and cancer.

Slow growth in children, fatigue, poor resistance to infection, irregular periods in women and deficiency diseases such as scurvy or rickets.
