What are carbohydrates?

Amino acids essential for the growth and repair of cells and tissues. Are also used to make muscle proteins, haemoglobin, enzymes, antibodies and collagen and can also provide energy. Required amount= 15%

Insulates nerves, forms cell membranes, cushions organs, provides an aerobic energy source, provides fatty acids and fat-soluble vitamins. Required amount= 30%

Essential nutrients required to maintain healthy body function, necessary for bone and tooth health, controlling bodily fluids, enzyme formation, breaking down food to release energy, e.g. calcium and iron.

Essential organic nutrients required to maintain healthy body functions. Important for bone/eye/skin health, cell/bone growth, and important for blood clotting, e.g Vitamin A, B etc.
