What is decomposition?
It is when the dead leaves from trees or the droppings from animals break down. micro organisms also play a part in this.

What is the carbon cycle?
when carbon is passed on through consumers until the final one, where the original carbon is released by respiration back into the atmosphere.
2 of 6
What is carbon used for in plants?
It is used to make carbohydrates, fats and protein to make up the plants body.
3 of 6
What happens when animals respire?
Some carbon is released into the atmosphere as carbon dioxide.
4 of 6
Where does the carbon that is being released come from?
