What happened when a prisoner asked for withdrawal from the study?
He asked for parole, this shows how the prisoners and guards forgot how this was an experiment and not real, the guards also conformed to their social role when not being watched- high realism

Because they suffered extreme reactions like crying, rage and anxiety. These started to appear after just two days.

After 6 days after Zimbardo's girl got involved, . She said the study does not justify the mistreatment of innocent men.

What did the study demonstate?
That both prisoners and guards conformed to their social roles, the guards became increasingly cruel and aggressive, whereas the prisoners became increasingly more passive and accepting.
