What is compliance?
It's where someone publicly changes their beliefs/views/behaviours but privately disagrees with it maintaining their own views. it is a superficial temporary type

What is identification?
We act in a certain way as the group does because we value it and want to be apart of it. We don't agree with everything the majority/group do. It is a moderate type.

What is internalisation?
where someone will both publicly and privately change their views/beliefs/behaviours permanently as we accept it as correct. This is a deep rooted type.

What are the explanations for conformity?
Informational social influence (ISI) and Normative social influence (NSI)

What is informational social influence?
we agree with an opinion of the majority because we believe it to be correct. we accept it as correct as we want to be as well. this can lead to internalisation.

What is normative social influence?
we agree with the majority opinion because we want it to be accepted therefore gaining social approval and be liked. this can lead to compliance.
