What was Aschs line study?

Had to judge line lengths. Confederates gave the wrong answer to see if the participant would conform. Naive participants conformed on 36.8%of the trials.

Summary of Zimbardos study

Mock prison with student participants assigned as either a prisoner or guar. Guards became increasingly brutal, prisoners became more depressed and withdrawn. Concluded participants conformed to their roles as guards or prisoners

Lack of realism, dispositional influences, lack of research support and ethical issues.
