SALT 1 was an agreement that was intended to restrain the arms race. Both Russia and America agreed to it

Meetings that took place in Helsinki, which had 33 countries attending it and had an agreement reached n 1975. These agreement were spread out in 3 different 'Baksets'.

When an American General George Marshall came back from Europe he thought that the whole of Europe was about to fall to Communism, so asked congress to for $17 billion to fund the European Recovery Program

Although he was offered it, Stalin turned it down, because one of the requirements for the aid was that you could not be communist.
