What is topping and tailing?
A way of washing the parts that need to be kept clean. Babies don't need to be bathed everyday but you need to "top and tail" them everyday.

How do you "top and tail"?
1) Wash the baby's face with a cotton wool dipped in cooled, boiled water. 2) Wah the hands and feet with wet cotton wool. 3) Take off the nappy and clean the nappy area with wet cotton wool, tissues or baby wipes.

What temperature should the water in a baby's bath be around?

How do you wash a baby?
1) Clean the anal and genital area. Girls=front to back. Boys=clean penis thoroughly. 2) Wrap baby in a towel. Clean baby's face with cotton wool. Use clean piece for each eye. 3) Take towel off baby and gently put into the bath. 4) Dry thoroughly.

What should you never do when bathing a baby?
NEVER LEAVE A BABY ALONE IN THE BATH. BABIES CAN DROWN IN AN INCH OF WATER.
