Meltzoff and Moore
while there was a dummy in the infants mouth, an adult did 1/3 facial expressions or hand gestures, it was then removed and infants actions were recorded, there was a clear association.

what are the stages of attachment?
asocial- 0-2 mnths -react the same to objects and humans
indiscriminate- 2-6 mnths -preferences over humans but don't have separation/stranger anxiety.

Schaffer and Emerson, 60 babies wc babies from Glasgow, they visited them at 12 mnths then again at 18 mnths and fond stages of cycle was replicated. 25-32 weeks- 50% discriminate stage, separation/stranger anxiety,-
