Nervous System
Consists of the CNS and Peripheral, communicates using electrical signals.

(CNS)
Consists of brain and spinal cord, origin of all complex commands and decisions.

Peripheral Nervous System
(PNS)
Sends information to CNS from the external environment. Transmits messages from the CNS to muscles and glands.

Somatic Nervous System
(SNS)
Transmits information from receptor cells in sense organs to CNS. Receives information from CNS that directs muscle movement.

Autonomic Nervous System
(ANS)
Transmits information to and from internal body organs - automatically. Divided into: Sympathetic and Parasympathetic nervous systems.
