Nervous system
Consists of the central nervous system and the PNS

Central nervous system
Made up of the brain and the spinal cord is the origin of all complex commands and decisions

Peripheral nervous system
Sends info to the CNS from the outside world, and transmits messages from the CNS to muscles and glands in the body

Somatic nervous system
Transmits information from receptor cells in the sense organs to the CNS. Also receives information from the CNS that directs muscles to act

Autonomic nervous system
Transmits info to and from internal organs. Its autonomic as the system operates involuntarily (automatic) sympathetic and para divisions

Neuron
nerve cells that process and transmit messages through electrical and chemical signals

Sensory neurones
Carry messages from the PNS to the CNS, have long dendrites and short axons

Relay neurons
Connect the sensory neutrons to the motor and other relay neutrons. Have short dendrites and short axons

Motor neurons
Connect the CNS to effector such as muse and glands. Short dendrites and long axons
