What is the study about?

What is the sally-anne test?
A simple test involving 2 dolls - one doll leaves the room, the other moves an object, the first doll returns and the child is asked where the doll will look for the object. It is assumed that basic theory f mind skills are required in order to pass

What was the aim of this study?
Provide support for a cognitive explanation of autism, specifically that autistic adults lack advanced theory of mind skills

Autism/Asperger's syndrome, Tourette's syndrome and the normal adults

concurrent validity, and is based on the assumption that if you check something twice then yo should get the similar results

What was the basic emotion recognition task?
Involved judging photographs of whole faces displaying the basic emotions. This was to check whether poor performance on the Eyes Task could be attributed to a problem with recognising basic emotion

What were the findings?
The results from the eyes task show that the tourettes group didn't differ from the normal subjects on this task, but both control groups performed better than the autism/asperger group
