the self that we present to the world, and relates to our role in life. If its too strong we have anxiety dreams about appearing naked in our place of work

The Shadow
contains everything about us which we can't face. the darker side of our persona. often projected out in different images in cultures, such as the devil.

The Anima and Animus
female and male archetypes. the anima is represented in figures like Eve/Virgin Mary, animus represented by the eagle. Need to be in balance for psychological health.

The Wise Old Man
Figures like Gandalf and Dumbledore. They are part of the psyche for all humanity, enabling Jung to claim the collective unconscious was universal. Similar to the figure of God in many religions.

The Self
the figure of Christ was a representation of the Self. Wholeness was best represented by mandalas. These are found in many religions & are used to symbolize the journey to enlightenment, salvation or wholeness.

God
core of all symbols and imagery of God in religions. The most common symbol for God found in many religions is a triune deity eg. Father, Son, Spirit.
