1 of 21
What are an advantage and disadvantage of Interviews/Meetings?
An advantage would be that questions can be adjusted as the interview proceeds. An disadvantage would be that some information given may be unnecessary and irrelevant.
2 of 21
What is Prototyping?
A prototype is the first attempt at a design before the project is extended. It provides clients with a first version of what it will look like.
3 of 21
Explain the two main types of prototyping?
Evolutionary is the first type of prototyping. This is when you build, review and evaluate the project as you go. Throwaway is when a part of the project is created, evaluated and then thrown away.
4 of 21
What is R.A.D?
Rapid Application Development is the shortening of project development. It is produced with in 6 months and user requirements cannot be changed within this time.
5 of 21
Explain 2 main features of Rapid Application Development?
Joint application development (JAD) is a requirement gathering workshop in which is hoped will not change. Time Boxing is a small bite size requirement through the use of JAD. Each has a timescale.

What are 2 roles and responsibilities of a project manager?
A project manager controls the whole project. They are responsible for all problems and rectifying them in a quick amount of time. They are also responsible for the budget and maintaining the budget. They must communicate concerns with the client.
7 of 21
What are the 2 roles and responsibilities of a system analyst?
The system analyst will investigate the CURRENT system using appropriate methods. They will also develop a plan for the new system and how it will be developed?
8 of 21
What are 2 roles and responsibilities of a system designer?
The system designer will build the system. They will also design hardware, communication and how data will flow between them.
9 of 21
What are 2 roles and responsibilities of a programmer?
They will create the software and also write the code in which forms functionality of the system.
10 of 21
What are 2 roles and responsibilities of a tester?
The tester will test the system for bugs and errors. They will also rectify any bugs and errors before it goes live.
11 of 21
What are the 3 types of testing?
Extreme, Normal and Erroneous.
12 of 21
What is critical path analysis?
CPA shows relationships between different parts of the project.
13 of 21
What is the task number circle called in a critical path?
Node
14 of 21
What is the arrow called in a critical path?
Arc
15 of 21
What is a gantt chart?
chart in which a series of horizontal lines shows the amount of work done or production completed in certain periods of time in relation to the amount planned for those periods.
16 of 21
What are the four main features of a Gantt Chart?
Milestones, Resources, Status and Dependencies.
17 of 21
What is a data flow diagram?
A graphical representation of the flow of data through an information system, modelling its process aspects.
18 of 21
What are 2 uses of the data flow diagram?
This shows where data is stored and also represents activity that is going on within the system.
19 of 21
What is level 0 of a DFD?
It is a graphical overview of how data flows within the system.
20 of 21
What is a flow chart?
Diagrammatical representation of the operations and processes involved in a system.
