women and the vote.....

why should women get the vote??????????????????

• the position of women had improved since the 1900s now:
  • women had more jobs opportunities, many worked as teachers, shop workers and seceteries
  • all women went to school and it was becoming more common for the middle class women to go onto university
  • women had gained more control over their lives, the married womans property act said they could keep their own money and property
• some MP's had changed their minds and thought that women should be allowed to vote
• there were single women and widows who had looked after their families just like men had always done, so why should they not be allowed the vote if they were the main…
