Violent tactics of the suffragettes
- disruption of meetings
- suffragettes would sit in at Liberal meetings and disrupt them, standing up or shouting. This sometimes led to arrests and eventually all women were banned from Liberal meetings.
- chained themselves to railings
- shouting suffragette slogans at Westminster
- attacking - sometimes burning - the houses of leading politicians
