Dear Jill,
After receiving your letter about you thoughts on deciding to run in the London Marathon, I have had some thoughts to myself concerning many different aspects about you which might mean that running the London Marathon might not be a good idea. I am writing to advise you, not change your mind about your decision.
Firstly, I would like to bring up the factor of your age. You are a very able woman, but your age is very high and as you probably already know, you could suffer long-term health problems from the London Marathon. The London Marathon is over twenty-six miles. This is a very long distance for anyone, and it will be very strenuous for you. I have done the London Marathon before and found it very hard to finish as by you are half way, you are already tired and sweaty and all you want to do is sit down and rest. Going with your age, you would find it very hard to cope in such a strenuous activity.
Another reason why I think you should not run…
