Thermoplastics
Polyamide (Nylon)
Tough and hard, resistent to wear from chemicals, machines and the environment. It also has a self-lubricating property.
Used often in bearings, wheels and hinges.
Polhmethyl methacrylate (Acrylic)
Stiff and hard, works well as a show material, and is a good insulator to electricity. Downsides are that its very brittle and is not resistant to scratches.
Used on signs and covers for delicate objects.
Polypropylene
Light in weight, very hard and resistive to chemicals and work fatigue. Downsides are it scratches easily.
Used in laboritories as medical equipment, plastic seats and rope.
