20 July:start of great fear

  • 4 August: decrees dismantling feudalism passed
  • 26 August:Declaration of rights of man and the citizen
  • August: tithes, annates and pluralism abolished
  • 5-6 October: October days
  • 2 November: church property nationalised

1790

  • 26 February: 83 new departments were created for local administration
  • February: decree distinguished between monastic orders based upon role in community
  • March: abolition of Gabelle
  • April: government converted assignats into paper money for use in a transactions
  • 21 May:creation of paris sections
  • 12 July:civil constitution of clergy
  • 16 August reorganisation of judiciary
  • October: internal tariffs abolished
  • 27 Novemeber: decree demanding clergy…
