The Relationship between The Lord and the Narrator.

In Stanza 1, the relationship is shown as complicated and in Stanza 1 the social difference between them is portrayed with the Cottage Maiden ‘Why did the great lord find me out?’ This suggests her confusion at the Lord’s choice in wanting her.The quote ‘To fill my heart with care’ tells me that the Cottage Maiden falls in love with the lord and so is oblivious and weak to the Lords using of her.
