Ok, here are some annotations from my copy of Cousin Kate by Rossetti. Hope this is helpful!

I was a cottage maiden:   Negative opening-Past tense, no longor a virgin-Narrator not named, embarrassed of how she has fallen from grace.

Hardened by sun and air: Could be used as irony..I don't know...maybe because her outer skin was hard but she was easily fooled and enticed by the lord.

Contented with my cottage mates: Happy with her life- tone of voice could be regretful and longing for her…




could you complete notes for the whole poem by tonight please? my exam's tomorrow and it would be great help




Could you give me some ideas on the similarities between the two cousins.
