- The speaker of the poem asks people of his time to dwell upon the image of the innocent lamb, in its relationship with the image of God.
- 'Who made thee' questions the whole of creation, and although most appropriately asked by children, it is also suggested it is Blake questioning people of his time, as a reminder to those who sunk in travails of war or industrial labour.
