  • Sudetenland: western part of Czechoslovakia with 3 million German speakers


  • Hitler wanted it and used Sudeten Germans as the excuse.
  • Hitler encouraged Henlein( leader of the Nazis in the Sudetenland) to campaign for independance under the pretence of ill treatment and riots broke out.
  • Chamberlain was determined to use appeasment.
  • 15th September 1938, Chamberlain flew to Germany.
