Social Influence
What is conformity?
When we adjust our behviour or opinions to match more closely to the behviours/opinions of a majority of others. Often referred to as major influence. (e.g. fashion trends)
Types of conformity
1) Compliance: The person conforms publicly but continues privately to disagree. (i.e. social smoking/Nazi Germany)
