Role of the British Olympic Association (BOA)

There are 197 Olympic Associations, of which the BOA is one. They are all governed by the International Olympic Committee (IOC).

  • Selection - Select the Great Britain Team
  • Management - Preparing and Managing Team GB
  • Liaison - Work with other organisations, such as the IOC
  • Bids - Attracting the Olympics to Britain
  • Team GB - Workshops, Welfare etc
  • Camps - Provide training camps for athletes
  • Sponsors - Appoint sponsors to people, and ensure they stay
  • Promote/Support - Make sure that all athletes are known…
