Rights of Workers in Business

  • Equal pay act 1970- both sexes should be treated equally with regard to employment and has been strengthened by European union law

  • Disability act 1995 (amended in 2005)- makes it unlawful for an employer to treat a disabled person less favourable than others and requires employers to make reasonable adjustment to working conditions

  • Race discrimination act 1976- unlawful to discriminate against men or women on the grounds of sex, marital status, colour, race, nationality, ethnic
