- What is digital consent?
- Digital consent is when we sign up to a new account or website online, we are always presented with pages and pages of legal documents which we have to read through and accept.
- Examples of digital consent
- What information the company can have about you, and how long they can keep it from you
- What they can do with the information, including who they can share it with or sell it to
- What rights you have in relation to your data, including the right to be forgotten
- How the European Union and GDPR have impacted on digital consent.
- The General Data Protection Regulation is a guideline in EU law on data protection and privacy in the European Union and the European Economic Area.
- The European Union and GDPR means that now when you go onto a website you have to agree to the them taking your information
