Erosion, Transportation and Deposition

Erosion is the wearing away of rock using movement. Erosion happens in the upper to middle course of the river or sea in higher energy conditions. 

There are 4 different types of erosion:

• Hydraulic action- the force of water hits the riverbed and causes the rocks to break off
• Abrasion- where pieces of rocks are picked up by the river or sea water and hit against the bed.…
