Perilloux and Buss (2008) key study for evolutionary explanation of relationship breakdown
> 98 males, 101 females (from uni) They all had experienced atleast one break up and were all heterosexual
> 69% of the ppts were white, whilst the rest were from different ethnic backgrounds
> The ppts either completed an online questionnaire or in person in a psychologists office. The questionnaires were based on their most recent break up. The questions included: emotions experienced after break up, any strategies used after the break up and the costs associated with the break up.
Results:
