the motor effect

when a current is passed along a wire in a magnetic field a frce may be exerted on the wire. This is the MOTOR EFFECT

if the wire is moving, there is always a force acting on the wire unless the wire is parallel to the magnetic fields. FORCE CAN BE INCREASED BY INCREASING THE CURRENT or using a STRONGER MAGNET

AN ELECTRIC MOTOR

the coil in the motor is forced to rotate and the coil is connected to a battery  via the brushes and slip rings. these stop
