X-rays:
Are part of the electromagnetic system, which have high frequency and short wavelengths. The wavelength is roughly the same size as the diameter of an atom. They are absorbed by metal and bones, transmitted by healthy tissue.
Affect photographic film in the same way as light, the brighter bits are where there are fewer wavelengths which produces a negative image. They can be used to diagnose medical conditions including bone fractures and dental problems.
