Although Hitler was reared as a Catholic he despised Christianity. However since most Germans were either Protestant or Catholic, he took care not to lose their support.
Catholic Church
- 1933 Hitler signed a Concordat with the Catholic Church, promising religious freedom for Catholics as long at the Catholic Church stayed out of politics.
- This agreement was like the one the Catholic church had signed with Mussolini in 1929. It also made Hitler look reasonable to German Catholics.
