Wedding is called Kiddushin which translates as 'dedicaion
Jews believe there are 3 purposes for marriage:
- Companionship
- Faithfulness
- Procreation
Faithfulness -to have a loving, sexual relationship with that 1 person. Marriage makes
sex holy. Faithfulness is shown by the rings: "with this ring you are sanctified unto me" and the Yichud(means seclusion - couple left alone for a while to symbolise the holy sex they will have in private)
