MAGIC BULLETS 

A drug or chemical that targets a specific germ or bacteria and does not affect any other. 

SALVERSAN 606 

- Discovered by Paul Ehrlich and used to treat syphilis.

- Ehrlich tried 605 variations of aresnic compound to try and kill the syphilis bacteria. 

- On the 606th variation, it worked. 

- Sahashiro Hata, Ehrlich's Japanese research assistant had retested the 606 and realised it killed the bacteria - he then reported his findings to Ehrlich.

PRONTOSIL

- Discovered by Gerhadt Domagk and used to treat blood…
