the kidneys and homeostasis
water and salt enter the body mainly in food and drinks. The kidneys are the excretory organs involved in controlling the amount of water and salt removing toxic urea from the blood. urea is produced in the liver from the breakdown of excess proteins (amino acids) whcih the body is unable to store. these substances are removed from the blood by the kidney and flow out as a liquid called urine/urea it then passes down two tubes called the ureters and into the muscular bladder where it is stored.…
